Yoga with a yoga strap: which exercises?
Every body is different: while some people can easily reach their toes, for others it seems impossible. With a yoga strap, many exercises are accessible to everyone, because it lengthens your body a bit. We'd like to give you a few examples of poses where the yoga strap comes in handy!
Seated forward bend
In this relaxing pose, you sit on the floor with your legs straight out in front of you. As you exhale gently, bend forward and reach your hands toward your feet. It's especially difficult to touch your feet if your leg muscles are short or you have a stiff back. Wrapping a yoga strap around your feet will make the exercise easier. While holding onto the strap, slowly bend forward. When you feel more space, lower yourself a little further into the pose with each exhalation.
Bow
This exercise will give the muscles in your arms, back, and neck a significant stretch. For this pose, lie on your stomach and grab your ankles with your hands. Then, slightly raise your thighs and chest. If you can't reach your ankles with your hands, wrap a yoga strap around them. This will reduce the amount of back arching you need, making it an option for even beginning yogis.
Half pigeon
First, kneel down and place one knee straight out in front of you while slowly moving the other leg back until it's fully extended on the floor. Tilt your pelvis slightly forward so your lower body rests relaxed on the floor. Now, lift the foot of your back leg and grasp it behind you with your hands. If you feel like you can't grasp your feet, use a yoga strap. In this pose, too, wrap the strap around your feet and then grasp it with your hands.
